Choosing between Dillan, Owen, Jake and Julian? Compare the four UPPAbaby CRUZ V3 infant cover colours and use clear decision rules to pick the right one.
Quick answer
All four UPPAbaby CRUZ V3 infant covers do the same job: they turn the seat unit into a cosy lie-flat cocoon for your newborn. Choose by colour and price: Dillan and Owen are the lower-priced options, Jake sits in the middle, and Julian is the premium choice.
What actually changes between the four colours
The fabric, function and fit are identical across Dillan, Owen, Jake and Julian. The difference is the colourway and the price you pay for it. That means your decision should start with the colour you want to look at every day, then move to budget. If two colours appeal equally, let price settle it.
Why colour matters more than you might think
An infant cover is one of the most visible parts of your pushchair in the first year, so it pays to think about how the colour will live with your home, your car boot and your daily route. A lighter shade can show marks sooner, while a darker one can feel warmer in summer. None of these covers is described as machine-washable in the supplied information, so treat spill-prone outings with a little care whichever you pick.
The trade-off: price versus the colour you really want
Dillan and Owen cost less than Jake and Julian, but they are not lesser covers in any functional way. If your favourite colour is Dillan or Owen, you get the same cosy newborn setup for less. If you have your heart set on Jake or Julian, the extra cost buys the colourway, not extra features. Decide which matters more before you add to basket.
Decision rules for choosing your colour
- If budget is the priority: Start with Dillan or Owen, the two lowest-priced colours in the range. Check the current price before you decide; the gap may be smaller than you expect.
- If you want a middle ground: Choose Jake when you want a distinct colour but do not want to pay the premium price.
- If colour is the deciding factor: Pick Julian only when that specific shade is the one you want on your pushchair every day, because the function is identical to the cheaper colours. Order the colour you actually want; a cheaper cover you dislike is a false saving.
- If you are unsure between two: Compare the colours against your pushchair frame and your most-used changing bag, then let price break the tie.
